Hi, I’m Benjamin Hull, a multi-instrumentalist and music producer. I’ve been playing and performing on various instruments for 35 years. My teaching style uses a combination of technical skill, music theory and a fun approach so that the student has a solid foundation to build on while also learning songs and music that they are interested in!
Starting on piano at age 5, I gained a solid foundation for understanding rhythm, melody and music theory. Picking up drums at age 11, I studied with Dave Walters who taught me the importance of rudiments and good technique and how that applies to drumset performance. At age 15 I started studying bass guitar (my primary instrument) which I studied under various teachers including Jacob Umansky of the Juno award winning, progressive instrumental group Intervals. From 2014-2017 I was the studio and touring bassist for Grammy nominated artist Lacey Sturm on the Billboard chart-topping album “Life Screams” and various tours. Over the past 15 years I’ve also picked up playing acoustic/electric guitar and vocals to round out my instrument repertoire.
Aside from teaching music lessons, you’ll find me producing and engineering original songs for music artists.
