Hello! My name is Jessica Pierce. Wife. Mother. Teacher. Author. Photographer. Singer. Songwriter. Performer. In the fall of 2022, I became the group/private voice and piano teacher at Maestro Minds. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from California University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University. Though music does not appear in my formal education, I have an extensive history in musical performance, instruction, and theater.
For over 10 years, I sang The National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1993-2004); recorded professionally at Audible Images Pittsburgh and Fire K Studios; taught private voice and piano lessons at Yadco Music as well as co-directed three small musicals: The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, and Robin Hood (2001 – 2006); performed at the former White Barn Theatre of North Huntingdon: Annie (1986), Molly; Scrooge (1987), Tiny Tim; Serra Catholic High School: Anything Goes (1996), Reno’s Angel, Can-Can (1997), Minor Character Role/Can-Can Dancer, and Into the Woods (1998), Witch. Furthermore, I was also a member of The Children’s Festival Chorus of Duquesne University (1987 – 1991), where I studied under the guidance of Christine Jordanoff, Artistic Director and Conductor and performed for both WPXI’s Pittsburgh Light-Up Night and special Heinz Hall concert.
In my spare time – if I have any (haha) – I continue to work on two upcoming novels and an illustrated picture book I am writing all while building my photography business. But, first and foremost, above all, I spend time with my husband, Jim, and children, Braden and Brinley: taking trips, having movie nights, making memories, etc.
Though my life may be or appear busy, as your child(ren)’s teacher at Maestro Minds, I have only ONE goal: to make each and every musical experience fun and valuable: one where they learn, grow, and remember.
